Decatur Portrait Garden

Generally we photograph our families in the spring and the fall.  The weather is perfect and our Decatur Portrait Garden is blooming perfectly.  Summer can be too hot for a family portrait session.  However, sometimes the fall is just a little too busy for families.  Robert Alford, cornerback for the Falcons is about to get very busy with the football season quickly approaching.

Brionne is gorgeous, but as a pregnant mama, she was glowing!  Check out her portraits on our INSTAGRAM page.  The maternity session with Robert and Brionne has to be one of my favorites!

The Location

We are so blessed to have this gorgeous garden to photograph our clients.  The Decatur Portrait Garden is owned by some amazing friends who used to be our bible talk leaders.  He has gifted us with a beautiful space to photograph.  This garden has many wonderful features, such as beautiful waterfalls and hardscapes.  My favorite is the koi pond.  Some of the koi are 2 feet long with bright, beautiful colors.  The Outdoor portrait garden is perfect all year long for family and maternity portraits.

The Attire

Photographing families in the Decatur Portrait Garden always leads to questions about how to dress the family.  This can be a very challenging task for most, especially on mom.  I always tell my clients to start with the girls outfits, whether its a mother or a daughter.  Once you have chosen a few girls items, you can build the rest of the wardrobe from there.  Men can be pretty simple to dress.  Brionne did a fantastic job at pulling together this family wardrobe.  Her dress looks amazing and pops nicely in this garden location!

Perfect attire for a family portrait!  His watch even matches his shoes and her dress is perfectly matched with his shirt.

Brionne purchased this portrait because she felt like she looked “in Love.”  I think that is so precious!
