A Lifetime of Family Portraits with My Sweet Babies
This day has been a challenging day for me. It’s hard to get any work done while watching the news of the Las Vegas mass shooting. However, I needed to get some work done and didn’t feel that showcasing our work of newborn photography was something I could do. Then, I decided a tribute to my family was what I needed to get through this day and maybe, just maybe, make someone else smile.
Whenever there is a tragedy, I think of how important these family portraits are to me. I think family portraits are what we have to hold onto when a tragedy strikes. If I have to run out of my house today, whether it’s because of a hurricane or some other natural disaster, these are the things I would want to carry with me. Hope you enjoy this collection “A Lifetime of Family Portraits with My Sweet Babies.”
On a tough day like this, the day of the Las Vegas mass shooting, all I can think of is my family. I decided to make a tribute to my family. Here is the last family portrait taken before we were blessed with 3 healthy children. This portrait was taken when I was pregnant with Tristen.
Certainly not excited about posting this portrait. It was taken a few days after Tristen was born, our first baby boy. This was before James learned Photoshop, and how to slim down Mom. LOL
This family portrait is from 2005 while we were in Hawaii. I was modeling for Brighton Jewelry and my hubby and baby were able to tag along for our first family vacation. Tristen’s face cracks me up.
First family portrait after we moved from Los Angeles back to Atlanta. This portrait was taken at Stone Mountain Park. Love these stairs! James did not have a remote for this portrait. He had to get up and down to set the camera. This image was #77. That’s a lot of ups and downs.
Photographed in 2007 in our 2nd home, which was in Grayson, Ga. A cozy family portrait on the couch. Love that big smile on that sweet baby! He has the best smile!
Always one of my favorite locations for a family portrait, the Ginkgo leaves. This was such a fun family portrait in the park in Atlanta. The Gingko leaves are like yellow rose petals and make such a beautiful backdrop!
Such a cool bridge at Stone Mountain Park. We were so busy this holiday season that we did not get to photograph our own family portrait until the middle of December. We, as parents, are not afraid of bribing our children. You can’t tell, but our kids were so cold, they were bouncing while singing, “Wal-Mart, Toys, Wal-Mart, Toys.” That is the only thing that got us through this session. What a great memory!
This feather portrait session was photographed in our back yard. If you’ve been to our studio, you’ve seen the full collection of our boys and their feather session. Its such a fun session for kids to jump on a bed and throw feathers everywhere. Sadie, the pup, sure enjoyed this session too!
You can’t see Madison in this portrait as she was tiny in my tummy. This is our last family portrait before Madison was born. This was probably the most challenging of all our family portrait sessions. We biked all afternoon to get to the right spot to take portraits. As the sun went down, we got the perfect portrait. However, the sun dropped quickly and the tide rose. It was dark and the sand became so hard for the kids to ride in. I, pregnant, had to carry crying Asher back to the car in the sand. James had to load all the bikes on his own, along with all the gear. A sweet family portrait quickly became a crying mess. Nonetheless, still great memories!
Our family is complete. My baby girl has arrived and my dream came true! This will always be a special portrait.
I must say, this is not our favorite family portrait. The breakouts with the kids and the horses were incredible. However, I couldn’t pass the 2013 family portrait.
Hilton Head Beach was another one of my favorite family portrait sessions. I’ll have to post the other sweet pictures of the kids together.
Another family portrait in the Gingko leaves. Amazing how much they all grew from the last family picture. Madison and Asher look so different. Again, I LOVE the Gingko leaves.
This bridge in Norcross/Johns Creek is another favorite place to photograph our Atlanta families. The blues look so pretty on this rustic wood. This may be one of my favorite portraits of the Hill Family.
Last, but not least. I have waited years to have a sunset beach portrait of our family. This summer I finally got one. We drove to Honeymoon Island just for this portrait and I’m SO glad we did. I can’t wait to frame this one. It is going to liven up my living room. The kiddos have so much personality in this portrait. Asher is always so hard to photograph. Year after year, he has been the one making a silly face or not smiling. I love this big, goofy smile.
